Almost one in six Minnesotans claims Norwegian heritage. The rich traditions of our Norwegian ancestry are interwoven throughout the fabric of our state. Today, as immigrants from all over the world look to Minnesota for a fresh start, it is more important than ever to remember and celebrate our common immigrant roots.

As you know, Norway House has embarked on a $13 million capital campaign to make the dream of a Norwegian American cultural and business center a reality. The next step is to construct a new 15,150-square-foot Norway House Event Center! To learn more about the project and how you can support it, please visit:

While the capital campaign continues to progress, Norway House also looks to the Minnesota legislature to support this important investment in preserving our state’s history in the form of a $5 million appropriation request to match the funds raised from individual donors. This is where we need your help!

Please contact your local legislator and ask them to support Norway House’s inclusion in the 2016 bonding bill. You can look up your local legislators at:

With your help we can make this Norwegian American cultural and business center a world class celebration of our shared heritage!

My Norwegian roots run deep. The farm my g grandmother was born on in Norway is still farmed by cousins. IT’s been our family farm since 1578. Both of my grandmothers were 100% Norwegian…I am the family historian and look forward to The Norway House !!!
