For the second year in a row, Norway House has built the Twin Cities out of gingerbread in our Galleri! Gingerbread Wonderland is a community effort and we want YOU to get involved! Keep reading to find out how you can join in the fun!
Whatever your level of experience – hobby baker, amateur baker, or professional baker – ALL are invited to contribute a house, structure, or building from the Twin Cities to the Gingerbread Wonderland display.
Drop off your contributions at Norway House between November 8th and November 18th, between 11am and 3pm. Contact Rachel Peterson (email@example.com or 612.423.9094) if you need to schedule a drop-off outside of those hours.
If you plan to create one of the Twin Cities iconic buildings, please connect with Rachel to make sure you don’t duplicate efforts with another baker!
We’ll help you get started! Here is a simple gingerbread house pattern and our recommended dough and icing recipes.
BEST OF SHOW AWARD
The “Best of Show” award will be selected from all exhibit entries by local food experts Kim Ode, cookbook author and “Taste” reporter for the Star Tribune; Nancy Ngo, award-winning journalist and food and lifestyle reporter for the St. Paul Pioneer Press; and Sue Zelickson, James Beard award winner and founder of the Charlie Awards, Women Who Really Cook and the Minneapolis and St. Louis Park Kids Cafes.
Starting on November 22nd through January 6th, Gingerbread Wonderland at Norway House is open to visitors! Enjoy holiday treats at Also Ingebretsen’s and surround yourself in all things gingerbread.
Group Tours: For groups of 10 or more, you can set up a group tour and get a discount on admission. Contact us to schedule a group tour.
Admission is free for Norway House members, children 12 and under, and for anyone who has contributed a house, building or structure to the display. Admission is $5 for all other visitors.
Please note that Norway House is closed on Mondays.
For some extra fun: Here is a coloring page to get your youngsters excited as well! They can color it in, and plan their dream gingerbread house! Bring this completed coloring sheet to Norway House before Jan. 6th and receive a special treat!
See your name in “gingerbread”!
