Chicken Break-down Class with Cecka Parks

  • Norway House 913 East Franklin Avenue Minneapolis United States (map)

Master butcher and founder of the Minneapolis Meat Collective Cecka Parks teaches you core butchering and knife skills.

You will have your own cutting board, knife and locally-raised whole chicken (3-4 LB). The class will be part demo and full hands-on participation. You will get to cut your chicken into 8 pieces but will also learn multiple methods of cutting the chicken into usable parts. Cecka will go over how to use all the parts, how to make bone broth, chicken liver pate and more. You will be given a tasty overnight marinade for you all to go home with and enjoy the next day. This class is great for partners, roommates and friends!

**Class purchases are not refundable. If you can’t attend, you may transfer your registration. Email classes@norwayhouse.org and give the name of the person who will be attending in your place.

A part of Matfestivalen, a collaboration of Norway House and Mindekirken. Lutefiskfestivalen at Norway House is the kickoff event, and Mindekirken’s iconic annual Lutefisk Dinner closes it out. In between, we highlight both traditional and modern Norwegian food culture beyond the infamous lutefisk.
