Heart to Heart: Grandparents + Grandchildren Writing Together

  • Norway House 913 East Franklin Avenue Minneapolis United States (map)

This class is for besteforeldre (grandparents) who want to share a rich experience with their barnebarn (grandchild). A skilled writing instructor, Brenda Hudson, will guide you and your barnebarn through sharing and capturing heartfelt stories and memories across generations.

She will lead you through facilitated writing exercises, storytelling techniques, and (optional) drawing activities. The two of you will learn about each other and capture a shared family memory or two. By the end of the session, you’ll have a collection of stories and memories that you can share with your family and friends, as well as the skills and techniques to continue capturing and sharing your cross-generational stories.

As a special bonus, you and your barnebarn will create a handmade journal together, facilitated by the instructor. The journal will have plenty of room to continue capturing your shared stories and memories and will be a cherished keepsake for generations to come.

Don’t miss this opportunity to share a special experience with your barnebarn, preserve your family’s history, and create a lasting legacy for future generations.

Plan on two hours for this class. There will be 90 minutes of activities and two breaks. This workshop is best for children kindergarten-age and above. It is designed for one adult working with one child.

The ticket price is for two people, one adult with one child. Course is limited to five writing pairs.

General Registration $65 | Members of Norway House $60

Note: Please be certain that you can attend on this time and date. We do not offer refunds or class credits for cancellations.

“Attention all Grandmas, Grandpas, Mormors, and Farfars!”

My soon-to-be nine-year-old Lily and I spent a couple of hours last Saturday morning experiencing an excellent bonding event at Norway House. Besteforeldre & Barnebarn Heart-to-Heart with Brenda Hudson, an excellent teacher, taught us how to make a book of important memories and experiences.

Lily could share Grandpa's experiences and plans to add her memorable experiences to create an ongoing picture of our life events. I highly recommend the class and its special teacher when a new lesson is scheduled.”
