Norway House is thrilled to welcome our famed musical guest, Lisa Stokke, this holiday season for an enchanting evening guaranteed to leave you brimming with the joy of the season! Lisa comes to Minneapolis fresh on the heels of a national tour across her home of Norway. Born in Tromsø, audiences around the world have enjoyed her talent on stage and screen throughout her star-studded career spanning more than 25 years.
The iconic voice of Elsa and Sophie – LIVE!
Lisa Stokke is perhaps most well-known for originating the role of Sophie Sheridan in the original 1999 cast of Mamma Mia! on London’s West End, for which she is featured on the original cast recording and worked closely with Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson of ABBA.
Lisa is also the magical voice behind Elsa in the Norwegian language dubs of the beloved Disney animated movies Frozen and Frozen II. If you didn’t catch her performance at the 92nd Academy Awards with Idina Menzel, Aurora, and eight Elsa voice actors from around the world, it’s definitely worth the watch!

This performance is suitable for families with children. As a part of the evening, a choir of local children led by Erik Pratt of Mindekirken will perform a selection of carols ahead of their Santa Lucia pageant the following Sunday. Children interested in joining the choir may register (free) with this link. Rehearsals begin November 5.

About Lisa Stokke
Lisa Stokke is a Norwegian singer, actress, and voiceover artist active in Norway, the United Kingdom, and the United States. She has appeared in several West End productions, most notably originating the role of Sophie in the ABBA hit musical Mamma Mia! She has performed at Buckingham Palace and at Party in the Park in London. In 2005, she co-hosted and performed in Nelson Mandela’s 46664 Arctic Concert in her hometown of Tromsø, Norway, alongside Annie Lennox, Peter Gabriel, Angelique Kidjo, and Brian May.
On-screen, Stokke is the voice of Elsa in the Norwegian language version of Disney’s blockbusters Frozen and Frozen II. She appeared in the BBC television hit series Jonathan Creek and Doctor Who. In 2023, Stokke was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at Norway’s Gullruten (the Norwegian equivalent of an Emmy) for her role in the hit TV series Vi Lover Et Helvete, playing a mother developing early onset dementia.
In the Fall of 2023, she and her band are embarking on a Norwegian national tour called “Lisa Loves ABBA!,” a celebration of ABBA’s music and her time playing Sophie in Mamma Mia!
