Ribbe, or juleribbe, is one of the most iconic dishes in the traditional Norwegian kitchen. Made from pork belly, the goal is the juiciest meat with the crispiest crackling. But if you are a true ribbe fan, you will want to try these Lingonberry Rum Glazed Ribs featuring the distinct Nordic ingredient lingonberry combined with rum, chili sauce, worcestershire and soy sauce! If you have never tasted ribbe before, this is the perfect introduction.
Join us at Norway House for an afternoon of hands-on rib baking with Teena Anderson, owner of Anoka Meat and Sausage and a regular guest on Twin Cities Live and Fox 9 Good Day.
In this interactive class, you’ll make your own lingonberry sauce, then top the ribs with fresh lingon all while sipping an optional beverage available for purchase from our Kaffebar. The ribs will be partially cooked, then you add the sauce, and bake further. Then, the best part - eating the ribbe with lingonberry sauce!
Teena will expertly walk you through the steps of how to select a good slice of pork belly and how to prepare it. In this class, the ribs will be partially cooked before class. But Teena will make sure you know how to do this so you can successfully make this dish at home.
Designed as a small-group cook-along, this class fosters community, connection, and conversation around food traditions. And in the spirit of sharing, the whole family is invited to join this collaborative cooking experience!
Please note: Norway House does not issue refunds. Please be sure you can attend on the day for which you registered. If you can't attend, you are welcome to give your seat in class to another person.
