POSTPONED: Pairing Lutefisk with New Flavors with the Curry Diva

  • Norway House 913 East Franklin Avenue Minneapolis United States (map)

Class postponed, new date TBD

New flavors mix with beloved traditions when the Curry Diva, Heather Jansz, sets up in the Norway House kitchen.

During this cooking demonstration and tasting, Heather will make chutneys and herb butters to add vibrant options to your lutefisk dinner. Buy a glass of wine or some beer at the Kaffebar, then go to the kitchen while we gather 'round and sample numerous chutneys and butters along with lutefisk, mashed potatoes, and cheeses.

Heather will walk you through the process of making a lingonberry chutney and herbed butters. She will suggest flavor combinations so you can create condiments that suit your tastes. You will leave with recipes and ideas for personalizing your lutefisk dinner. Heather will also have prepared lingonberry chutney available for sale.

$35 | General Admission
$30 | Members of Norway House

About Heather Jansz, The Curry Diva

Heather Jansz is a native of Sri Lanka who brought her knowledge of spice and cooking to Minneapolis in 1974. The co-founder of two Sri Lankan restaurants, co-author of a cookbook, and the force behind the Curry Diva pop-up dinners in south Minneapolis, she has cooked for Deepak Chopra and Black Sabbath.

She focuses on building rich flavors (“Spicy does not have to mean hot. Hot is a choice.”) and looks forward to sharing her recipes that complement traditional Norwegian foods.
