Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned baker, join us to build your own gingerbread creation and connect with others along the way!

On these special days, families, friends, and individuals of all ages and abilities are invited to gather in our Sundet Aula to assemble charming gingerbread houses. All materials are provided, so all you need to bring is your imagination and holiday spirit!

Every house crafted during these events will become part of our enchanting Gingerbread Wonderland exhibit, spreading joy and wonder to everyone who visits.

Come for the building, stay for the fun—and leave with the satisfaction of knowing your creation is part of something truly magical. We can’t wait to create with you!

Lutefiskfestivalen—hosted at Norway House—is back by popular demand, now over two nights, casual and formal. Chefs from Norway will prepare lutefisk the “Norwegian way,” with traditional sides. Beer, aquavit, and other alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages will be available.

Doors open at 6:00pm. Entertainment and cash bar. Dinner service will begin at 7:00pm.

Free parking available.

Join Lynn Hjelmen, author of The Recycled Gnome, to learn how to make an appealing Scandinavian gnome from recycled materials. The class project is a 12” Gnome with a Bird Friend. All the materials needed for the class will be provided.

A Scandinavian tradition that goes back hundreds of years featuring children pre-k through high school. The pageant is part of the December 10 service.

A dazzling musical adventure for the holidays with the talented Norwegian actress and singer Lisa Stokke. Enjoy Gingerbread Wonderland before the show, and delight in the iconic voice that originated the role of Sophie in Mamma Mia! and provided the Norwegian voice of Elsa in Frozen and Frozen II!

The ever-popular Nordic Julemarket, held December 1-3 at Utepils, has been a Twin Cities holiday tradition since 2016. Last year, Norway House was able to extend the Julemarket through a pop-up event in our Sundet Aula. We’re proud to announce its return on Tuesday, December 5, 2023!

Around 20 Nordic-inspired artisans and small businesses will fill the event hall at Norway House. Full windows and warm drinks and waffles make us hope for a snowy (but safe) afternoon so we can truly shop and enjoy the Julemarket with all of the Christmas season’s glittering, white backdrop.

Our first annual Vinterfest Gala will celebrate the opening of our Gingerbread Wonderland exhibit and the coming of the jul season. Join us for a spectacular two-in-one event that combines the joy of a Julefest (Norwegian Christmas party) with the enchantment of Gingerbread Wonderland's grand unveiling.

The inaugural Twin Cities Lutefisk Festival—hosted at Norway House—will welcome award-winning Norwegian chef, Rune Veslum, and his team to prepare lutefisk the “Norwegian way,” with traditional sides. Beer, aquavit, and other alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages will be available.

Doors open at 6:00pm. Entertainment and cash bar. Dinner service will begin at 7:00pm.

Mindekirken invites children of all ages - pre-K through high school - to participate in our annual Santa Lucia Pageant.

Children will participate in a Scandinavian tradition that goes back hundreds of years, while learning how to sing and perform as an ensemble with other children. Santa Lucia is a great way of introducing another language to children, with songs and texts in both Norwegian and English. No Norwegian experience is necessary.

Rehearsals begin on Sunday, November 5 from 1:00-2:45 pm, and continue each Sunday until the pageant on December 10 during the 11am service.

Participation is free.

Join our merry Tuesday Knitters group in our Kaffebar cafe as they set about adding “trim” to the trees for our upcoming holiday season. Yarn and patterns are available; knitting needles are not provided.
